Meadow Shepherds Hut

Our Shepherds Hut is situated in a small fenced area under some willows at the edge of a hay meadow. It's a short walk (3 minutes) away from the farmhouse and the shared facilities. Parking for one car is available a few metres away. With double doors and plenty of windows, the hut feels spacious and light. A wood burning stove heats the space during the colder months, when we provide the fuel for the first night of your stay. Additional fuel is available to purchase. A fire pit or BBQ can be rented for use in the outdoor space. The kitchen has a single ring gas hob, and is equipped with a kettle, a small selection of pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils as well as condiments. Tea, coffee and sugar are also provided. The sleeping area has a king size foam and sprung mattress. Bedding is provided, with extra covers and hot water bottles for the colder months. There is under-bed storage for luggage. Bring your own towels. The hut is off-grid with lighting coming from a leisure battery which is charged by solar electricity. There is no mains water at the hut but there is a large glass water dispenser that can be refilled by you at the shared kitchen. The compost toilet is for your use only. Outdoor furniture is provided with some solar exterior lighting. All our guests are free to roam a large field at the top of the farm with views over the surrounding area. A public footpath runs through the farm with the Grand Union Canal (and a canalside pub) at one end and Rushmere Country Park at the other.

• The log burner will keep you warm and cosy in the colder months. Enjoy privacy and views across the hay meadow which is frequented by deer. Owls and Red Kites live in the nearby woodland.

No refunds within 14 days of arrival. For cancellations 14 days or more before arrival the amount refunded will be 70% of the total cost of your stay. We will try to move you to an alternative date within the current season if possible. Please consider travel insurance for your trip to cover the cost of cancelling.
