Beekeeping 🐝 Learn how to look after honey bees

Available April - September. This booking is for one person. You can bring one extra guest along for no additional charge. Arrive at the farm where we will be waiting to meet you in the farm office. We will then head to the equipment barn to show you the different hive parts before going to meet the bees. You will learn how to check our hive health chart and interpret what actions need to be taken, given the latest hive check data collected before your arrival. We will teach you how to put on a bee suit and protective gloves properly so you're all ready to visit the bees. Once everyone is suited and booted, we will head over to the apiary where we keep the hives. We will demonstrate how to open a hive, assess the health of the bees and their progress building the colony and how to log this information for future reference - then it's your turn! You will get the chance to look in a hive, hold frames of bees and log hive information yourself - all with us on hand to help and answer any questions you may have. Under 18?
