The Rhynd Forest Rooms - Curlew

Looking for a quiet retreat to escape the world? The Rhynd forest rooms are for you. In October 2025, we installed four of these Konga cabins, with planning for a further six. They aren't just cabins, though, as the design brief to architect Mette Fredskild was to build a 'luxury hotel in the woods'. This is exactly what she's done and they're even more amazing in the flesh. Unlike other similar installations, we believe that you want peace and quiet when you stay in the countryside, and that's why our forest rooms are at least 60 metres apart. Being just metres from the 4000-acre Tentsmuir Forest, and under two miles to Tentsmuir Beach, they are the perfect base for exploring the local area. You can even order breakfast baskets and dinners from the café, so all you need to do is relax. Since it is all about reconnecting with the surrounding Scottish countryside, our first four forest rooms are called: Owl, Curlew, Red Squirrel and Goose.
