Metal detecting

We have some lovely land to metal detect over. There is a rich Roman history all around us with evidence of roads, temples and the very visible burial mounds on the opposite bank of the river. The Medieval bridge is where our farmland starts and where you can find all sorts, from gold and silver staters from the Catuvellauni tribe, civil war musket balls, Georgian coins, buckles and gaming tokens to WW2 training artefacts and of course plenty of farming history too. You will need to bring a detector with you as we don't hire out equipment and a pin pointer is a good investment as well. A light weight spade is always useful but a trowel will certainly do, after that please dress for the weather, bring refreshments and possibly a friend to share it all with, especially the digging and of course to take the photos. Toilets provided in the farm courtyard.

• The day starts at 10 and you are welcome to stay until dusk. Please don't arrive before 10 as we will be checking on the farm animals and sometimes they need some extra attention.
