Tiny Cow Preview: Hands-On Tiny Cows
About This Experience
For people who don't just want to see the cows - but want to understand how we work with them too. Our Hands-On Preview is the most immersive way to visit Tiny Cows Yorkshire before our new experience barn opens. You'll begin by meeting some of our friendly young cattle, spending time grooming them, fussing them and learning their individual personalities. Then we'll take you behind the scenes of their training. We'll introduce you to the basics of the calm halter work we're doing with our youngsters and explain how we build confidence and trust over time. Some cows may be happily walking beside us. Others may decide that three steps represent quite enough personal development for one afternoon. Where the animal, weather and your confidence are suitable, you may have the opportunity to get involved and help lead one of our young cattle yourself. You'll also meet some of our youngest Miniature Herefords and see where they've reached in their training before visiting members of the wider herd for feeding, introductions and photographs. This isn't a performance where the cows work to an itinerary. It's a chance to see how we really work with them. What's included: - Welcome and safety briefing - Extended Tiny Cow interaction - Grooming and fuss - Plenty of photographs - Introduction to halter training - Opportunity to participate in suitable halter work - Meet some of our younger Miniature Herefords - Meet members of the wider herd - Supervised feeding of suitable cattle - Tiny Cows host throughout - Maximum of six guests Good to know: Halter work varies from session to session because every cow progresses differently. We never force an animal to complete an activity simply because it was advertised. What you do will depend on the individual cattle, weather and circumstances on the day. This is also a working-farm preview experience. Expect uneven surfaces, outdoor conditions and mud. Ages 16+. No spectators. No dogs in the animal area. What to wear: Warm layers, weatherproof clothing and sturdy closed footwear or wellies. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting a little bit farm-like.
